The above terms relate to a creative, contemporary approach to the practice of Ashtanga (Vinyasa) Yoga as taught by Pattabhi Jois. This demanding style promotes physical and mental health and wellbeing, and personal and spiritual development.
This is accomplished through a practice combining full rhythmic breathing with fluid movements linking a wide range of challenging and powerful postures.
Physical and mental health promotion working one-to-one with the individual client to restore health and balance throughout the psychophysical system using all the many and varied techniques and practices at our disposal within the traditional system of Yoga to address the specific needs, health conditions, illnesses, injuries and ailments of the client.
Yoga has proven successful in the treatment and relief of symptoms for many conditions including: sports injuries, arthritis, rheumatism, insomnia, muscular sprains, immunodeficiency, back pain, headaches, migraines, lack of concentration, poor memory, emotional imbalance, depression, anxiety, weight problems, eating disorders, addictions, poor balance, lack of coordination, digestive problems.
Vinyasa Yoga / Vinyasa Krama / Hatha Vinyasa
A progressive, personalized and developmental approach using a constructive and ordered, creatively intuitive and intelligent method: this is a truly holistic and flexible approach which includes postural alignment, intelligent sequencing and rhythmically linked breath and movement.
With this style the student learns how to do Yoga and how to create their own practice to achieve their own goals.
A wide range of classical Yogic breath control techniques with many personalised variations introduced to help you to better manage your mind and mood.
This area is especially helpful for those with respiratory issues such as asthma, frequent coughs & colds, restricted breathing etc. Also useful for sportsmen and women who know that effective breathing will lead to consistent peak performance.
